Globalization – The Downfall of America

Is it possible that the 9/11 tragedy might have been the result of globalization and blind immigration? Many tend to think that the open door policy towards immigration was greatly responsible. If it was not for immigration policy and the issuance of visas to any member of our global society that request’s one, these attacks might have never occurred.

To begin with, the World Trade Center was attacked by individuals that were already living in this country and attempting to blend into our society. It is obviously that they believed that regardless of the opportunities that America afforded them, their allegiance was not to America. Maybe there should be some form of intense psychological evaluation before visas are issued to gain a better sense of whom and what we are accepting into this country. Greater and more stringent control over who is allowed to immigrate and setup shop here may have prevented the whole incident.

Real Americans should remember that everyone that smiles in your face is not your friend, nor is there always good intention. America has traditionally been the place that most people in the world wanted to live in because it was thought of as the “land of milk and honey”. However, as a result of globalization and increased immigration, the honey is bitter and the milk has turned sour. America is no longer the “land of opportunity” that it once was unless you are an immigrant, fresh from some third world nation.

Remember when jobs in America were plentiful and reasonably easy to get?  Many of us preferred the time when the only competition for American jobs were from other Americans. Any real American that had the desire to work could acquire a job, provide for themselves and their families without fear of someone coming into their environment and taking their jobs away just because that someone would do the job cheaper. Although technology and automation have been responsible for much of the job loss in this country, it did not affect us in the same way as globalization.
