Since the governmental removal of God from our children’s lives, the children have decided more things must be eliminated. Recently they have started to complain about saying the Pledge of Allegiance in schools and standing for a moment of silence. Is this just another way to insert their independence or an act of defiance? Is there a legitimate reason for them to not participate or are they just doing as they please? Since this case however, more and more students have joined the band wagon to spout off to the teachers. When were children given the right to tell an adult what will and will not happen? Our government has passed laws that prevent children from smoking, drinking and many other things because they are too young to make these kinds of decisions for themselves. Yet, it seems a child snapping “You can’t tell me what to do!” to the teacher has become common place in public schools. Not wishing for lawsuits to incur, the administration attempts to push this behavior under the rug. With this action being allowed to occur, giving these “minors” an education has become difficult at best. It seems that more and more of our children are only getting a “General Education Diploma” because they are allowed to tell the schools what they will learn. So it would seem that the education they are receiving is “I can do as I damn well please and who care about the consequences.”
Is this real education we want our children to have?
